We had been putting off buying a dishwasher for some time. Our old machine seemed "ok" but started making some noises. We chose the KitchenAid to match our other appliances. The purchase of this dishwasher was absolutely the best acquisition we have made in years. It cleans perfectly dishes, pots and pans with a pre-wash. A very impressive feature is how whisper quiet it is. We have to check at time to see if it indeed running. I would recommend this model to anyone who likes to get value for their money. You will not be sorry if you buy the KitchenAid.

I ran a load of dishes and heated drying would not work. Dishes were wet and it took several weeks to get repair made.

We bought this because of its great reviews at independent review sites. But it surpassed our expectations by getting some old glass bowls, which had become milky white from our previous dishwasher, sparkling clean. And it's so quiet we have to double-check that it's on. Its Pro-Wash feature (like a "smart" dishwasher) is impressive, and is one of the reasons this model is at the top-end of dishwashers in terms of price, but we think it worthwhile.

I was really surprised at how quiet it is. When we built our home in 1998 we had all kitchenaid appliances installed. Have tried other appliances and to me the quality does not match kitchenaid especially in how long they last.

After months of research, online & in store, I purchased this very expensive dishwasher. The clean water system was a big reason for this plus. After weeks of washing dishes, it still doesn't clean dishes that great. It doesn't matter what cycle I use, what dishwashing detergent, jet dry or no...the dishes rarely come out sparkling. I have given it every type of opportunity to perform as described, to no avail. It is beautiful and whisper quiet but my bottom of the line, basic dishwasher in my vacation home cleans fantastic compared to this disappointment. The one feature I do like is the bottle scrubber. I wanted to love this dishwasher. Now, I settle for semi clean dishes and silverware after a 3-4 hour cycle. It is ridiculous.

Thought I was getting a top of the line dishwasher. I use the Cascade Platinum dishwasher pods and the rinse aid. Have ran dishes twice and still not clean. Have to rewash every time. I've had this for over a month. Will never buy Kitchen aid again. If I could rate lower than a 1 star I definitely would.

I purchased this for Christmas; I replaced a GE Dishwasher for my parents. The Model KDTM354ESS is extremely quiet but works fantastic at getting dishes extremely clean.
The ProScrub function is a great way to get messy dishes clean such as casserole dishes. It truly works and works great.
The satin-glide racks truly pull out with ease and definitely have a premium feel.
I would also provide that the dishwasher is extremely quiet; at first I assumed the clean water system would make the model loud but we could literally be having a conversation and we do not hear the dishwasher running!
Fantastic product from Kitchenaid and looking fowars to replacing range and refrigerator with same brand due to satisfaction of dishwasher performance.

Replaced our 10 year old Maytag (not a bad dishwasher, just very noisy and so-so cleaning). This new unit is just amazing: The cleaning is thorough, as is the drying. But what's really amazing is how quiet the unit is. It needs to have the little LED on the front cover that shows you the cycle it's in, otherwise you'd never know it's running.

Pros:
* Quietest dishwasher we've ever owned
* Cleans well on Pro settings (Pro Wash, Pro Scrub, Pro Dry, etc)
* Adjustable top rack very helpful
* Looks really nice, clean
Cons:
* Doesn't clean that well on normal settings - really need to crank it all the way up
* Lack of adjustable/folding rack positions sometimes make fitting larger things more difficult (all previous dishwashers have had certain racks that folded down to allow larger things)
* Silverware tray is weird -- certain holes smaller than others, for our silverware it makes half of the holes unusable because our silverware doesn't fit in smaller holes
* Cycle times seem slow - from 2-3.5 hrs to clean ok - cycles less than 2 hrs don't seem to do well
* Has a timer, but it's on the top of the door which is under the counter and can't really see/reach the controls while its on, so although the timer is there, its relatively unusable - should have found a way to make timer more visible

It works wonderful. I have two complaints. First, the handle, we liked the previous years handle MUCH better. It is what we thought that we were getting. We ordered what looked like last year's handle, but the holes did not line up. Secondly, the black stainless steel is just a coating that chips easily. There was some contact with the coating in installing the handle, but nothing excessive. IT CHIPS EASILY!. I am investigating a touch up kit for the coating.

I bought this dishwasher about 3 weeks ago and I couldn't be happier. It does a fantastic job of cleaning the dishes. It's super quiet and I love the room in it. The racks glide super smooth and easy as well which is wonderful compared to my older dishwasher that I always struggled with. I absolutely love this dishwasher and highly recommend it.

About 3 weeks later and since we went from no dishwasher anything was an improvement from 10 year olds. I say almost because cycles here and there everything come out spotty but not more than once a week, and although the drying is amazing sometimes there is a plate or two with dried food particles but they literally wipe off with a clean damp paper towel (like one swipe) and again it happens maybe once a week out of two cycles a day everyday. other than that, consodering we have extremely hard water, we use the pods for dish soap and make sure we have a good rise-aid so it almost always makes the dishes sparkle! Honestly I have never seen dishes come out so clean after just being rinsed of large food items and tossed in, no scrubbing dishes ever. It was worth the $800, it was on sale and the store accidentally put out two floor models so we got a $1300 dishwasher with a 5 year plan and after tax for $800 bucks. This is the model i wanted but didnt think we would afford it!!! Surprise suprise it was meant to be :) oh and this is also the quietest thing ever, dont even know when it is on. Do wish it was a little more bottom rack space but the top rack does adjust to be able to have a more equal upper and lower area if you need it, and having a utensil basket that is portable saves my back for up down up down!

Now, this is brand new. Only used 5 X. I used the recommended Cascade platinum disc, and also I filled the rinse aid dispenser as you must.
Dingy dishes and glassware, not used for years, came out sparkling brand new.
It also shined some stainless steel casserole dishes I had put in. Its design is sleek and the handle bar on the outside is convenient.
